Deck The Halls With Care: Join Mitchells In Recycling Christmas Trees For Nottingham Hospitals Charity

Posted by in Corporate Social Responsibility on 12th December 2024

It’s already the festive season! The most wonderful time of the year and we just wanted to remind you as you’re hanging up your Christmas decorations of our Christmas tree recycling scheme.

Over the last few years, we have collected Christmas trees in the Mansfield area to help raise funds for the Nottingham Hospitals Charity, and this year is no different. Last year we helped raise over £13,595 for the charity through the Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme.

Recycling your Christmas tree

Once the Christmas festivities are over you’re probably going to need an easy way to get rid of your tree! Mitchells are here to help as this year we’re once again collecting trees to raise funds for the Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

We ask for a donation of £10 per tree under 6 feet tall and £15 per tree over 6 feet tall.

All the trees are being sustainably recycled thanks to the partnership we have with one of our generous friends based in Nottinghamshire.

We will be collecting trees within the postcodes below, please check you live in the area before signing up to have your tree collected:

NG1, NG2, NG3, NG4, NG5, NG6, NG7, NG8, NG9, NG10, NG11, NG12, NG14, NG15, NG16, NG18

Note: real Christmas trees only!

Collections will be taking place between 7th and 12 January 2025. Unfortunately, we can’t confirm the exact time and date of your collection.

How it works

  1. Sign up to have your Christmas tree collected
  2. Leave your Christmas tree outside of your house from 8am on Tuesday 7th January (You don’t need to be in for your collection.)
  3. Our team of trusty elves will come to collect and recycle your Christmas tree from Tuesday 7th January
  4. Sit back and relax knowing your tree has been taken care of and recycled!

Raising money for a worthy cause

All of the money raised goes towards making patient care in Nottingham’s hospitals the absolute best it can be. From helping young patients with juvenile arthritis to dementia-friendly tea parties to funding equipment for Parkinson’s patients and much more.

These are just some of the ways the funds are spent to help staff, patients and their families.

As a family-run business, we value our community and making a difference. The Nottingham Hopitals Charity is just one of the few charities we regularly support.

We take great pride in backing these charities and organisations, as their principles and aspirations resonate with ours. Supporting these causes aligns seamlessly with our family values here at Mitchells.
