The primary greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide (CO2) which contributes to rising sea levels, disruption of ecosystems, ocean acidification, extreme weather and impact on agriculture.
In the last few years, we have taken steps to address our carbon footprint. From assessing our carbon footprint to reducing our carbon emissions, investing in the UK’s first 18-tonne electric truck to working with Ecologi to offset our carbon emissions.

Our customers can now join our Carbon Co-Op where we’ll help them to start their sustainability journey by offsetting their carbon emissions from their deliveries with us.
The Carbon Co-Op simplifies the management and administration of your carbon footprint, providing effortless activation and adjustment according to your needs, granting you complete control!
Our Carbon Co-Op is a unique opportunity for you to offset the carbon emissions generated by your delivery mileage. Through this program, you will be investing in carefully selected projects that aim to recover the environmental impact of your transport and distribution activities through our partnership with Ecologi.
The industry’s first carbon calculator
Here at Mitchells, we already count the CO2 emissions of getting your freight from you to the Network Hub within our carbon footprint. We can now measure the journey to the delivery member and then onto your customer. By utilising the latest DEFRA data we can calculate the emissions to every UK postcode.
The cost to compensate for the CO2 produced is then invoiced to you by us. With the help of Ecologi that CO2 is then compensated, and the results are there for you to review and share with your customers.
